The orignal S5 Siemens PLC Panel that is now obsolete

The new Panel that Gwentec installed with a modern S7-1200 series PLC

Gwentec were asked to migrate an original Siemens S5 PLC (Cira 1980s) to a S7-1200 PLC

The original LED mimic panel was replaced with a large HMI display that retained the original mimic display but also allowed

operator control and additional display of active alarms and IO status

Large sections of the program could not be directly migrated from the S5 codebase to S7 codebase so the project contained

Considerable amounts of unique code. The project utilised modern safety standards, following consultation with an independent Health and safety consultant

Gwentec produced electrical drawings for the entire original electrical install along with new the PLC panel to help ABP with possible future troubleshooting
